I
would like to extend a warm greeting from sovannaphurm to all of my
friends who are visiting this site. I created this site with the intention
to collect some information connected with education, entertainment,
culture and world religions, as well as for keeping for my personal
study and sharing with friends, family, relatives, and the world.
In
this website, besides educational material it contains some entertainment
like songs, karaoke and movies to suit the visitors who wish to listen
or watch. I have nothing to tell you guys but I have one special thing
in my heart to show to you that I might be lucky to meet you here. I
am also glad to be your friend and to make friends with you.
I wonder why we don't try to make our world full of beautiful friendship
and blossom in a way that nothing can irritate our minds. We actually
didn't even know who we were before we were born and we were all born
to different places, families, and religions. We were born to Asia,
Europe, and the Americas; we were born into Buddhist families, Muslim
families, and Christian families; we were born as white people, black
people, and yellow people but we are still human beings, and we have
all brought nothing except naked bodies and empty brains into this world.
The problem is when we started to grow up, our brain also has started to mix with other things; like when we dye a white clothe into many colors. Then the polluted mind came out with the prejudices and irritations to each other and our fellow human beings. The question is why should we think like that? Is it for the sake of our religions? The answer is No!
Because
you know, the reality is showing that “He who hates others, hates
himself. He who hates other religions, hates his own religion”
We need religion to guide us to have peace for oneself and to the world,
not to make war among our fellow friends. For me, a good quality can
be black or white, can be Buddha or God, can be sky or earth etc. It
is nothing with the labels we put on it as long as you practice well
you can be anything......
I just have a simple opinion that we should spend some time developing
a spiritual way of mind. Because the mind is of the utmost importance,
as the Buddha mentioned in Dhammapada: "All that we are is the
result of what we have thought: all that we are is founded on our thoughts
and formed of our thoughts." As everyday life becomes more materialistic,
the necessity for spirituality becomes ever the greater. The consequence
is showing us that the world is facing a lot of problems because the
human mind is overwhelmed by materialism. To control the mind is to
preserve the peace within oneself, and with relation to one’s family,
friends, society, country and the world.
When stomach lacks of food one might feel hungry while for the mind brings a lot of suffering, hatred, delusion and greed. The mind is like the stomach in that it requires spiritual food in order to be nourished. And last but not least, let me smile in hoping to see you become a good friend.
I
wish to thank everyone for your interest in sovannaphurm.com. I wish
to get words of support and encouragement from all friends. I do hope
to get some cooperation and assistance from you all too. I wish you
all to be well and happy.
Thank you,

It is not easy to achieve what I wishes to obtain but there are methods said by the Buddha made me really have encouragement to gain what i wish. In Kalama Sutta, He said that "Do not go upon what has been acquired by repeated hearing ; nor upon tradition; nor upon rumor ; nor upon what is in a scripture ; nor upon surmise; nor upon an axiom; nor upon specious reasoning; nor upon a bias towards a notion that has been pondered over; nor upon another’s seeming ability; nor upon the consideration, “The monk is our teacher.” Kalamas, when you yourselves know: “These things are good; these things are not blamable; these things are praised by the wise; undertaken and observed, these things lead to benefit and happiness,” enter on and abide in them."
I just hope this website will bring me to reach my goal to promote happiness, peace, harmony, prosperity, human rights, democracy and sustainability through the practice of Khmer culture and Buddhism among Cambodian community and local mainstream people.

“Peace is to be found inside one's own heart not outside."
"Hard to get thing can satisfy one's mind if one does not learn to satisfy own mind with things one has"
“Even one has a million of dollars if one not learn to satisfy
one's mind, one will hard to get happiness ”
Here is a passage from Venerable The Dalai Lama that he tells us "HOW TO BE COMPASSIONATE TO ENEMIES?" when some asked him "How does a person or group of people compassionately and yet straightforwardly confront another person or group of people who have committed crimes of genocide against them?"
His
Holiness: "When talking about compassion and compassionately dealing
with such situations one must bear in mind what is meant by
compassionately dealing with such cases. Being compassionate towards
such people or such a person does not mean that you allow the other
person to do whatever the other person or group of people wishes to do,
inflicting suffering upon you and so on. Rather, compassionately
dealing with such a situation has a different meaning.
When a
person or group of people deals with such a situation and tries to
prevent such crimes there is generally speaking two ways in which you
could do that, or one could say, two motivations. One is out of
confrontation, out of hatred that confronts such a situation. There is
another case in which, although in action it may be of the same force
and strength, but the motivation would not be out of hatred and anger
but rather out of compassion towards the perpetrators of these crimes.
Realising that if you allow the other person, the perpetrator of the
crime, to indulge his or her own negative habits then in the long run
the other person or group is going to suffer the consequences of that
negative action. Therefore, out of the consideration of the potential
suffering for the perpetrator of such crimes, then you confront the
situation and apply equally forceful and strong measures.
I think this is quite relevant and important in modern society,
especially in a competitive society. When someone genuinely practices
compassion, forgiveness and humility then sometimes some people will
take advantage of such a situation. Sometimes it is necessary to take a
countermeasure, then with that kind of reasoning and compassion, the
countermeasure is taken with reasoning and compassion rather than out
of negative emotion. That is actually more effective and appropriate.
This is important. For example my own case with Tibet in a national
struggle against injustice we take action without using negative
emotion. It sometimes seems more effective."
